The amazing Bowron Lake Provincial Park

3 weeks have gone by since my last post, and it has been a great time at Bowron Lake Provincial Park. I have experienced and travelled the West side of the circuit many times now and I am becoming very familiar with the terrain and the park. I have also really enjoyed interacting with the Park Rangers and all the visitors from all over the world that travel here to enjoy the canoe circuit and all the recreational values this park has to offer. Every day that goes by brings more and more visitors to the park as the summer starts to get into full swing. This weekend is the annual Fathers Day fishing derby with many prizes to be won for the biggest fish. Right now its a 4lb Dolly that has the current record, I'm sure this will be broken as the weekend progresses.

I have also been able to enjoy the surrounding areas of Wells on my days off. Historical Barkerville has a lot to see and character actors throughout the town. While Quesnel has a historic downtown with many local shops and a great farmers market on Saturday mornings. The people in the Cariboo are very friendly and have great hospitality, it has made my stay here very welcoming.

Tonight will be the first time in 3 weeks that I will be able to enjoy a hockey game, and its game 2 of the Stanley Cup Finals. As a die hard Canuck fan it was hard for me to choose between Chicago and Boston. But the West is the Best. Go Hawks Go!

This coming week will be my last in the park before I get to go home to the beautiful Comox Valley and my loving wife for an awesome 10 days. Cant wait for some Puntledge River tubing and ice cold cans of Lucky! I will definitely be posting more before I arrive back at the park in early July.

Below are some great photos and a short video of the park, hope you enjoy.
